NLP
What is Neuro-Linguistic Programming?
NLP is the practice of understanding how people organise their thinking, feeling, language and behaviour to produce the results they do. It describes the fundamental dynamics between mind (neuro) and language (linguistic) and how their interplay affects our body and behavior (programming).
NLP can help you overcome issues in your life that are stopping you doing what you want to do.
¨ Does one part of you want to do something but you feel another part says no? Let us identify the conflict and help you resolve it.
¨ Do you have conflicting beliefs? want to loose weight but like to reward yourself with food!
¨ Do you detest a food you want to eat – or do you eat something you wish you didn’t?
¨ How about being good at a sport – you know the techniques, you have the ability yet you still can’t do it!
¨ Overcome your phobias
¨ Remove allergies and food intolerances
NLP can also provide people with a methodology to model outstanding performances achieved by geniuses and leaders in their field. If you can understand what makes someone an expert it is possible to copy their methods yourself (modelling). We can help you identify their expertise.
You can visualise yourself being successful at a specific thing eg public speaking, golf. NLP techniques can help you gain the confidence to succeed.
NLP can improve your communication skills by helping you understand more deeply when communicating with someone. Rather than just listening to and responding to what a person said, NLP aims to also respond to the structure of verbal communication and non-verbal cues. The NLP questioning is intended to clarify what has been left out or distorted in communication.
NLP practitioners believe that we should respect everyone’s model of the world, it will no doubt be different from ours but everyone has the right to make their own world based on their own values, beliefs and experience. It is only when it is no longer working for an individual that we need to encourage a positive change.
The NLP Practitioner helps the client identify those areas of their beliefs and values, or significant emotional events which may be preventing them from feeling healthy and whole.
NLP can be a quick process to remove everyday irritations however it is much more effective if time is taken to look at why these things are happening, why we think like that and how we can change them. Some changes occur after a quick 20 minute session others may take a 6 – 8 hour session for a total change.
If there were no thoughts and feelings holding you back:
¨ What would you be doing with your life?
¨ What would you not be doing with your life?
¨ How would you feel about yourself?
Change the way you think as easily as you change your mind
